This school year, 2009-2010, is off to a wonderful start. Our second graders are showing that they are ready to learn and stretch their brains! We have a lot to learn and I am excited and looking forward to a great year!

Helpful Information For Parents
Book Bags: Every child will be given a Ziploc bag
along with a book and a form for an adult to sign after the book has been read at home. Reading the book together with your child will be beneficial for all of you! When your child returns the Book Bag to me, they can choose another book. Try to read every night! It is so important - and fun!

Weekly Spelling: Every Monday each child will be given weekly spelling words in their Homework Folders. Also in their Homework Folder there will be a page where the students can practice writing their Spelling Words at home. Please help your child study these words throughout the week. They will have a test on their words for the week each Friday. They will need to return the Spelling Words in their Homework Folder each Friday. Children who have a perfect Spelling test will have their "star" put up on the wall as a Super Speller for the week!

Weekly Homework Folders: Every Monday, your child will bring home a Homework Folder. Inside it, there will be notices from the office, as well as some worksheets to do. Please help your child remember to complete and return the Homework on Friday. If everyone remembers to return their Homework on Friday, our class will have an ice cream party the following Monday! Yum! Responsibility pays off! Remember, all homework is due every Friday!
