Parent Survival Tips for Bedtime Battles
Parent Survival Tips for Bedtime Battles
1. Create a bedtime routine--short and simple.
For example, read a story or sing a song, and
then a hug and goodnight kiss.

2. Provide a blanket or stuffed animal for
security.

3. Give a 5-10 minute warning before it's bedtime
so your child can finish what he/she is doing
and perpare emotionally.

4. Limit drinks with caffeine.

5. Use a night lights or dimmer switch in your
child's room.

6. Play soothing music if this helps your child
calm down.

7. Check with your child every 5-10 minutes until
she/he falls asleep, reassuring her/him calmly
and quickly each time. If your child gets up,
sliently return her/him to bed.
