Staff Profile

My name is Rikki Anhorn and I am looking forward to working with your child and family this school year.

This is my 18th year as a classroom teacher. I have taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa and my Masters of Art in Teaching from Webster University in Kansas City.

I love teaching because of my students.  I enjoy seeing and being a part of that moment when they discover something new, or master a concept that they have been working on.  I love the creativity and excitement that they bring to the classroom.  Each day is a new day, which means it is a new chance to learn and do something great. One thing that I love about Vento and drew me to working here is that it feels like a family.  Staff get to know students and their families.  I grew up in a small town and living in a big city I miss that community feeling and those connections.  The staff at Vento care about and love their students and their families. I love being apart of that.
